Charis started having headaches in October 2017. The headaches started to get worse and for longer periods and eventually on 12th February 2018 she and her parents were told that she had a brain tumour.

Surgery followed 3 days later and they were told that it was a form of cancer known as Ependymoma. Within 6 weeks the family were in Florida for Charis to begin 33 sessions of  Proton Beam Treatment.
